"Goodbye, Grandpa! Goodbye, Grandma!"

Inside the car, Agumon poked his head out of the window—a dangerous maneuver, readers, please do not attempt this—and waved his hands, his large eyes filled with reluctance.

"Agumon, we look forward to seeing you again. And you too, little Gatomon."

The two energetic elders stood outside the window, waving back incessantly, their eyebrows curved into crescent moons beneath their smiling faces.

"Grandpa, Grandma, you should head back. I’ll come to visit you again when I have another break."

Pulling Agumon back inside from the window, Zhao Jie also kept waving at the two elders.

Having finished his major exams, Zhao Jie had taken Agumon and Gatomon back to his hometown to spend the last few days of his summer vacation. Tomorrow, he would be heading to Sha City to enroll at Xiang University.

Early the next morning, the family drove to the high-speed railway station.

"Son, you’ve grown up now. There were things we opposed before, but now we support them. You understand what I mean, don't you?" Zhao's mother patted her son's shoulder, speaking with earnest gravity.

Zhao Jie: "???"

A string of question marks rose over his head. What kind of trick were they trying to pull now?

"Ahem, son, you remember your elementary school classmate's cousin's brother, right? I heard he’s got a beautiful girlfriend now."

*My elementary school classmate's cousin's brother? And you’re asking if I know him? I don't know him from Adam!*

*Back when I was in high school, you kept telling me to focus solely on my studies. Now you want me to find a girlfriend for you? Should I just conjure one out of thin air?*

"Alright, Old Zhao, don't pressure the child. Our son is so outstanding; I’m sure he’ll be able to bring a girlfriend home by the New Year." Zhao's mother shot her husband a glance, continuing to pile on the pressure.

Zhao Jie: "Haha."

"Mom, Dad, it's getting late. I’m heading through the gates. I'll call you once I'm settled! Bye!"

With that, he grabbed Agumon and Gatomon and headed toward the ticket checkpoint. If he stayed any longer, the two of them would probably start discussing what to name his future children.

Over an hour later, Zhao Jie arrived back in Sha City.

"Driver, to Xiang University."

"You got it!"

Sha City was densely populated, and consequently, there were many Digimon Tamers. The driver merely glanced twice at Zhao Jie’s two Digimon before losing interest. The only thing he found slightly curious was that while most people only had one, this kid had two.

Half an hour later, Zhao Jie arrived at the gates of Xiang University with Agumon and Gatomon.

"Hey, Brother Zheng, I’m at the gate of Xiang University."

"You’re here already? Great, great, I’ll come pick you up right now." Zheng Qilin’s voice came through the phone. Taking advantage of the wait, Zhao Jie began to survey the prestigious school with its rich history.

Everyone arriving was a Digimon Tamer, and each of them had a Digimon by their side.

"Classmate, do you need any help?" A senior student acting as a volunteer approached Zhao Jie with her Elecmon, asking softly. She had been observing this newcomer for a few minutes and, seeing he had no intention of heading to the registration desk, decided to come over.

"Thank you, Senior, but I’m waiting for someone." Zhao Jie offered an apologetic smile. His eyes fell on the Elecmon; its tail was like a peacock's, capable of fanning out. However, every time it fanned its tail, it indicated an intent to attack. This was his first time seeing such a Digimon.

"Oh, you’re here!"

While Zhao Jie was talking to the senior, Zheng Qilin appeared at the gate and waved upon seeing him.

"The person I was waiting for is here. Goodbye, Senior." Zhao Jie offered another apologetic smile before heading toward Zheng Qilin with Agumon and Gatomon.

"Eh..." The senior’s eyes widened. *Isn't that the director of our school's admissions office? He came to greet a freshman in person? What kind of background does this guy have?* Regret washed over her; if she had known, she would have asked for his contact information.

"Hey, didn't I teach you how to construct a Digital World within your own brow? Why haven't you learned it?" Zheng Qilin asked, looking at the two Digimon following Zhao Jie.

Constructing a Digital World within one's brow allows a Tamer to store their Digimon inside and release them only when needed; it was incredibly convenient.

"I learned it. They just feel uncomfortable staying inside, and it’s livelier having them by my side," Zhao Jie replied nonchalantly.

Constructing a Digital World using digital energy wasn't difficult; the only requirement was having a sufficient amount of digital energy, which was no problem for Zhao Jie.

*Fair enough.* Zheng Qilin didn't press the issue; it was a matter of personal preference. Personally, he preferred keeping his Digimon stored away.

With Zheng Qilin’s help, Zhao Jie’s enrollment process was swift. Within an hour, Zheng Qilin led him to his dormitory. Then, Zheng Qilin hurried off; he had a lot to deal with over the next few days.

Inside the room, all daily necessities were provided; there was nothing Zhao Jie needed to add.

"I'm hungry." Agumon rubbed his belly, looking at Zhao Jie pitifully.

"Let’s go grab something to eat, then." Hearing Agumon, Zhao Jie realized he was hungry too.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, Zhao Jie was surprised to find that the food served there contained digital energy, and the prices were very low. At that moment, many Digimon were lining up for their meals.

"You two go line up as well." After saying this, Zhao Jie went to get his food, and Agumon and Gatomon obediently went to join the queue.

*Bang!*

Just as it was Agumon's turn to order, a burly Leomon pushed in front of him.

*Eh?* Agumon paused, poking the giant creature in front of him.

"Hey, don't cut the line! It’s my turn to order."

Leomon turned his head, glanced at the small Agumon, and let out a disdainful sneer.

"Get lost!"

With a swift motion, Leomon shoved Agumon’s hand away and gave him a push. *Thump*—Agumon fell to the ground.

Gatomon, who had been quietly watching a show on her phone, paused when she saw Agumon hit the floor.

"Hey, apologize to Agumon!" Gatomon put away her phone and looked at Leomon, her expression serious.
