113 Are You Daring Enough to Agree? (Late Night)
"Y-You... why have you all come?"
Mu Qingcheng gaped in astonishment, her eyes flickering with a touch of emotion as she looked at the four men approaching steadily, as if they had stepped out from a painting.
At that moment,
Third Brother Mu Jingchi and Eldest Brother Mu Zongxing stood in the center, flanked on either side by the rarely seen entertainment company CEO and the Mu family's Fourth Brother, Mu Yao, and the "Ice Beauty" Mu Qing, who had just rushed from the hospital.
The four men slowly reached Mu Qingcheng, their similarly sharp-featured faces bearing very different expressions.
Mu Jingchi was the most agitated; he stepped forward, grasping Mu Qingcheng’s arm firmly and scrutinizing her carefully. After confirming she bore no injuries, he furrowed his brows in restrained anxiety and whispered,
"Qingcheng, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Third Brother," Mu Qingcheng replied obediently, nodding. Then she turned to the others behind him, greeting them one by one.
"Eldest Brother, Second Brother, Fourth Brother."
"Qingcheng, Eldest Brother is late," Mu Zongxing said with his usual calm and courteous demeanor.
Though his heart burned with anger, he maintained his composure and grace, his gaze full of protective affection for his sister.
Mu Qing stood still, merely nodding faintly. He shared an unspoken understanding with Mu Qingcheng; a single glance between them conveyed their mutual thoughts.
As for the Mu family’s most "sharp-tongued" and "charismatic" member, that was undoubtedly Fourth Brother Mu Yao.
This man, who had immersed himself in and nearly controlled half of the entertainment industry, suddenly turned his gaze toward the throng of reporters still blocked at the door.
His pristine white suit was immaculate, yet seemed even darker than the night.
"Heh~ I'll go meet them."
"Second Brother..."
"It's alright, just wait for me," Mu Yao said, turning back to Mu Qingcheng with an irresistibly charming wink.
With that, he slipped his hands into his pockets and strode toward the entrance with a swagger that was both suave and flamboyant.
"You rogue!"
A cold snort from the old Mu patriarch, long ignored by his grandsons, finally drew everyone's attention back.
"Grandfather."
"Grandfather."
"Oh, old man, you’re here too," Mu Zongxing and Mu Qing greeted him politely.
Only Mu Jingchi raised an eyebrow, casting a challenging look at the elder.
Taking advantage of the moment, Ran Siya stepped forward, standing straight and respectfully addressing them.
"Eldest Brother, Second Brother, Third Brother, hello."
"Hmm, long time no see," came a reluctant reply from Mu Zongxing alone.
Everyone had heard about the incident at the horse ranch; now meeting again, no one was in the mood for pleasantries.
Mu Jingchi, the most hot-tempered, glared at her coldly without sparing a shred of courtesy.
"Ran Siya, has your confinement period ended that you’re running around?"
"Third Brother, I... I was just worried about Grandfather."
"Worried?"
Mu Jingchi frowned, walking over to appraise Ran Siya’s sun-kissed skin from head to toe.
His sharp, penetrating gaze swept over her eyes, then he spoke deliberately, word by word.
"You better not let me find out you had anything to do with this matter. Otherwise, don’t blame me for disrespecting Grandfather."
"I... I had nothing to do with it," Ran Siya stammered, throwing up her hands helplessly, eyes brimming with tears like a frightened little animal.
Unfortunately, even Old Master Mu remained silent, leaving her heart pounding with fear and uncertainty.
Almost simultaneously, Mu Yao’s voice rose sharply from the doorway, cold and cutting as he declared loudly,
"You want to conduct an interview? Fine. But I have one condition. The question is, do you... dare to accept it?"
