Chapter 112: Inadequate Acting (Part Four)
When Mu Qingcheng and her party arrived at the hotel, they could already see from afar the crowd gathered in front of the entrance. It was nothing but a sea of reporters, all denied entry, holding up flashing cameras and video equipment, looking around anxiously.
“Go straight to the underground garage,” Old Master Mu said with a frown, his tone cold and filled with displeasure.
“Understood, Old Master,” the butler Ji replied. It was rare for him to accompany them on trips, but upon hearing the order, he immediately directed the driver to the basement.
However, as the car turned into the alley, a sharp-eyed reporter spotted Old Master Mu’s exclusive license plate. Shouting loudly, the reporter called out, “It’s the Mu family’s car! Someone from the Mu family has arrived!”
Everyone turned to look. Another voice excitedly confirmed, “That’s the Old Master’s private vehicle, no doubt about it.”
“Even the Old Master has stepped in. Looks like Mu Qingcheng’s situation is serious.”
Seeing this, all the reporters immediately changed course and rushed toward the car.
Some even tried to leap over flower beds, frantically attempting to climb onto the vehicle, only to be pinned down by security guards who appeared out of nowhere.
More and more security personnel soon arrived from all directions, joining the effort. Reporters were either blocked or forcibly restrained, yet none succeeded in stopping the car. In the end, they could only watch helplessly as their coveted story slipped away.
Meanwhile, inside the hotel lobby, the atmosphere was eerily silent, likely due to the news. The once bustling hotel was now deserted, with only a few guests checking out and almost no one checking in.
When Mu Qingcheng and her group ascended to the lobby, they saw the emptiness clearly. Suddenly, a few figures appeared out of nowhere and rushed in front of Mu Qingcheng, pointing fingers and shouting insults.
“Mu Qingcheng, your conduct is disgraceful, corrupting my sister!”
“Yes, you bully others, flaunting the Mu family name and leading the girls astray!”
“My girlfriend broke up with me because of you, chasing some foolish dream of marrying into a wealthy family. It’s all your fault!”
“You don’t deserve to be part of high society—you’re just a country bumpkin!”
“Country bumpkin, go back to the countryside!”
Each word was like a sharp blade, stabbing mercilessly at Mu Qingcheng’s heart.
Old Master Mu’s face turned a deathly shade of dark. Before Mu Qingcheng could utter a single word, hotel staff intercepted those people a few meters away.
The agitators continued to shout furiously, as if wanting to tear her apart. At this moment, Ran Siya, visibly frightened, stepped back and gently grasped Old Master Mu’s arm.
“Grandpa, these people are really terrifying,” she whispered.
Mu Qingcheng glanced back at her deeply, a profound and unfathomable expression flashing in her eyes. Ran Siya clearly saw a cold, disdainful smile on her face, but in the next instant, it vanished as if it had never been there—like an illusion.
For now, Mu Qingcheng remained silent, expressionless as she faced those who snarled at her. Her calm and detached demeanor was both surprising and unsettling.
No one knew what she was truly thinking.
Yet, despite being accused so openly, her indifferent attitude was enough to make others hesitate to underestimate her.
“Tsk, poor acting—didn’t quite hit the mark,” she sneered inwardly at their clumsy performance.
Before she could make a move, an astonished murmur rose at the doorway. Slowly, the hotel’s heavy doors swung open from both sides.
Four men entered, walking side by side. Their noble presence instantly filled the entire lobby with an air of authority and prestige.
