85. The Appearance of Qin Tianxiong
These men were clearly well-trained; even if they weren’t veterans, they must have graduated from martial arts schools. Moreover, their teamwork was impeccable, and they wielded weapons as they closed in, launching ruthless attacks at Chen Fengyun from all directions, their strikes merciless and lethal.
“So these are Qin Tianxiong’s true enforcers, each one fierce and without pity, their blows capable of crippling or killing,” Chen Fengyun realized as he turned the thought in his mind. Without hesitation, he responded with equal ferocity.
Thuds echoed, followed by agonized screams.
Chen Fengyun’s body spun like lightning, his feet tracing the nine-palace steps as he unleashed the newly acquired Tan family leg techniques. In the blink of an eye, four burly men were sent flying, each one howling in pain—some with broken ribs, others with shattered limbs.
A thunderous roar erupted.
Seeing his subordinates defeated so swiftly, Zhang Heng let out a bellow as deafening as thunder. His long arms lunged forward, attempting to seize Chen Fengyun and tear him apart.
But an explosive collision followed. Chen Fengyun did not dodge; instead, he charged straight into Zhang Heng’s embrace. Yet, it was Zhang Heng who staggered backward from the impact.
A cry of pain escaped him as he stumbled seven or eight steps back, blood spurting from his mouth. His arm was twisted, his chest stained with blood, and his jaw fractured by Chen Fengyun’s punch.
“Do you know about Qin Tianxiong’s drug trafficking, child abduction, and dealings with the Japanese?” Chen Fengyun stepped forward, planting his foot on Zhang Heng and demanded in a stern voice.
“Heh, Qin is most trusting of me. Half of his drug business is managed by me. I always have men stealing children from other regions, and most of them are delivered to the underground base by my hand,” Zhang Heng hesitated for a moment, but then spilled everything like beans from a bamboo tube.
“Damn you, what did you just do? I’ll kill you!” Realizing he had revealed too much, Zhang Heng roared and suddenly sprang up, his uninjured right hand clenched into a fist, swinging fiercely at Chen Fengyun.
“What? Qin Tianxiong is involved in all this? And what is that underground base—what goes on there?” Beside them, Tan Ying was stunned, finally understanding just how vile Qin Tianxiong’s deeds were, and how close she had come to becoming his accomplice.
At that moment, Zhang Heng, wild with rage, lunged at Chen Fengyun. He knew that the words he’d just spoken were enough to seal his fate at Qin Tianxiong’s hands. Though he couldn’t comprehend how Chen Fengyun had compelled him to confess, all he wanted now was to kill Chen Fengyun and silence everyone who had heard him.
“Scum.” Chen Fengyun uttered the word coldly, then his body flashed forward, unleashing a formidable aura that sent Zhang Heng’s massive, nearly two-hundred-pound body hurtling through the air, crashing into the wall.
A scream followed.
Chen Fengyun then leapt after him, and with several sharp cracks, he stomped so hard that both of Zhang Heng’s arms and legs were broken. Zhang Heng lay on the ground, writhing helplessly, unable to rise.
“What’s happening?”
“Someone’s causing trouble!”
“Catch him, don’t let him escape!”
“Notify Qin, quick, tell Qin!”
As Chen Fengyun and Zhang Heng fought, the commotion drew security patrols and many of Qin Tianxiong’s men from the manor. Shouting, they rushed over, some running off to report to Qin Tianxiong.
Barking erupted.
Just as Chen Fengyun crippled Zhang Heng, two wolfhounds were brought over, their handlers urging them forward. They lunged at Chen Fengyun, jaws wide, breath foul and teeth sharp as knives, attacking from both sides.
“Out of my way!” Chen Fengyun barked, swinging a fist and kicking out, sending both dogs flying. These hounds, trained to be vicious, felt the pain but were not seriously injured; landing, they resumed barking and pounced again.
“Given your savagery, I doubt you’ve spared many lives yourselves. What use is there in letting you live?” With a cold snort, Chen Fengyun struck with full force, chopping down on their backs and breaking their spines. The dogs landed nearby, whining and struggling, unable to rise again.
But just as the dogs fell, a dozen more men surrounded him, all wielding clubs, machetes, or batons—another group of well-trained thugs.
“You accomplices, since you’ve aided Qin Tianxiong in so many crimes, let me settle your accounts today.” Chen Fengyun declared as he advanced. His movements were lightning-fast, his fists and feet raining blows. Like a tiger among sheep, he knocked down thug after thug; some struggled back up, others remained sprawled, bones broken and howling in agony.
“Who dares make trouble at Twin Heroes Manor?”
Soon, Chen Fengyun stood in the courtyard, surrounded by a carpet of groaning, wounded thugs. At last, Qin Tianxiong appeared, his voice booming as dozens more men encircled the area.
Qin Tianxiong was tall and burly, with thick brows and large eyes, his face broad and resolute. Only his sullen gaze betrayed an unruly arrogance and deep, sinister cunning.
He was flanked by a group of formidable experts, their presence palpable, and more people were converging, some armed.
“What’s going on here?” Qin Tianxiong’s gaze landed on Chen Fengyun standing amid the fallen thugs, and on Zhang Heng, grievously injured and unable to move. But his eyes ultimately settled on Tan Ying.
“It was a thief under Luo Fei’s command who provoked him. I wasn’t his match, and after losing, he demanded I bring him here. Qin, I took your payment to protect you, but today I’ve lost. My skills are lacking, so our contract ends here. I won’t take the remaining money, and from now on, I’m no longer your employee.” Tan Ying summarized the events and then, in front of everyone, dissolved the contract.
“Qin, he’s here deliberately to stir up trouble. He knows too much—he can’t be allowed to leave.” Zhang Heng, still struggling on the ground, called out.
“So you’re Qin Tianxiong?” Chen Fengyun disregarded the threat, looking calmly at Qin Tianxiong, showing not a hint of fear. No one knew that at the very instant Qin Tianxiong appeared, Chen Fengyun had dialed the police and begun recording.
“You’re young, but bold. Knowing who I am, you still dare to break into Twin Heroes Manor?”
