Chapter Six: The Ruthless Tiger of the Auditorium

The Shibuya Metropolitan Police Department was actually only about two kilometers away from the Security Building. After all, Shibuya Ward itself wasn’t very large, and the famous Shibuya Crossing was well known as the “busiest pedestrian crossing.” Crowded and compact—that was the reality of Japan.
After obtaining the information he wanted from “Happy Hero,” Chen Lai had little left to do. His plan was simple: wait here and use threats or coercion to force that mysterious white-haired old woman to summon the spirit of Fushiguro Zen’in, calling forth his physical data onto himself.
In the original story, that old lady summoned Fushiguro Zen’in’s spirit onto her grandson, only summoning the physical data, yet her grandson was still possessed by Fushiguro Zen’in! The tyrant Fushiguro Zen’in’s body was that overwhelmingly powerful.
To summon Fushiguro Zen’in, Chen Lai absolutely needed the “Heaven and Curse Binding” technique; otherwise, his body wouldn’t stand against Fushiguro Zen’in’s strength, his mind would naturally be possessed, and the mission would fail with no chance of retreat.
Of course, this was just Chen Lai’s estimation. If he lost the gamble in the end, so be it; he was a man who accepted defeat gracefully. There were no waves that only surged upward forever, no underlings who always escaped unscathed.
Running wildly through Shibuya’s streets at night, the gusts he generated nearly overturned the roadside greenery. Each step left deep craters in the concrete; his arms swung faster than a cutting machine.
This was the average combat level of sorcerers in this world. The most absurd Special Grade sorcerers could destroy entire buildings with a single technique, while even Grade One sorcerers could blow away entire floors.
“Here.”
Standing before the now deserted Shibuya Security Building, Chen Lai held a can of beer covered in condensation. He had grabbed it quickly from a convenience store; the security cameras probably couldn’t capture his face clearly. He paid with some loose change left in his police jacket.
*Pop.*
He didn’t rush forward but opened the beer and took a big swig. At this hour, everyone inside had long gone home; breaking in would only alert the snakes. Perhaps the old white-haired woman wouldn’t come tomorrow if he startled her now.
So, he would have to climb up by hand.
Luckily, he had “Heaven and Curse Binding” on him; otherwise, an ordinary sorcerer’s body wouldn’t withstand such exertion.
…
“Folks, this is Shibuya Ward in this world—quite bustling, isn’t it?”

At Shibuya Crossing, a player with the ID “Auditor’s Fierce Tiger” was walking through the streets, streaming live. The live chat had only a few dozen viewers, most of whom were players half-asleep.
After all, Deep Sea Company’s dungeons were too numerous. Confidential dungeons like the “Shibuya Incident,” where no major events had occurred, attracted few viewers and mostly free riders seeking information.
Thus, the live chat was not very receptive to this kind of content.
“We’ve seen enough of these cyberpunk halls in the spring season. Can we get something fresh?”
“Yeah, why not film some curse spirits? Like that one player who filmed at a yakitori stand and ran into a trio of curse spirits plus a sorcerer!”
“No way, you mean the unlucky player killed by Volcano Head?”
“Exactly! That Volcano Head’s name has been dug up by curse spirit players—it’s called Leaky Pot!”
Seeing the conversation veer off-topic, Auditor’s Fierce Tiger wanted to interrupt but wasn’t sure how. The dungeon was indeed boring now, the scenery modern, and curse spirits not everywhere.
Crossing the intersection, he instinctively turned toward the Shibuya Metropolitan Police Department. His sharp eyes spotted a high school girl sitting hugging her knees on the ground, comforted by a stern female officer.
“Hey, good eye. This one’s got a story. Streamer, be quick and ask.”
“Every day it’s all women, women. Can we get something interesting? I command you to challenge Leaky Pot one-on-one!”
“Enough upstairs! Didn’t that player with a million gear get wiped out by Leaky Pot already? You don’t know how?”
“How?”
“One hit KO! Domain Expansion lasted one second—turned him into roast pork instantly!”
…
“Ahem, ladies, on such a long night…”
“No thanks, beat it.”
The girl named Kyoko didn’t even look up, telling the man to scram.
She was currently worried about how to soothe Toyokawa. Chen Lai’s advice was to be followed, but for some reason, Toyokawa Yosuke stubbornly refused to leave and wanted to find Chen Lai at the Security Building.
In Kyoko’s words: Stockholm syndrome had set in.
Toyokawa took another swig of beer, tears glistening in her eyes, and saw the face of the man trying to strike up a conversation.
His face was ordinary, but Yosuke noticed a blue light emanating from him, similar to the glow Chen Lai had when pocketing something.

“Do you know him?” Yosuke, drunk and swaying, grabbed Fierce Tiger’s arm.
“Who?” Fierce Tiger was a bit surprised.
“This guy, just like you, shining blue, very strong, and handsome!”
After trying to describe him, Yosuke realized she didn’t even know Chen Lai’s name.
Yet her words excited the chat.
“Holy crap, this is a player and a sorcerer? Only the brave play sorcerers in dungeons!”
“Dude, that description doesn’t sound like a sorcerer—more like a sucker playing ‘Heaven and Curse Binding.’”
“Damn, the guy she’s talking about is ‘Great Mighty Dragon.’ Just had him drop gear at the Police Department! BYD’s a newbie, doesn’t even know the Deep Sea forum!”
“Newbies can’t win, just quit the group.”
“Don’t you get it? He’s got six sets, six divine power sets!”
The chat suddenly buzzed, especially after the player “Happy Hero” supplied fresh intel, bringing a surge of viewers.
Fierce Tiger realized this man might be his key to tonight’s streaming traffic, so he hurriedly asked Yosuke about Chen Lai.
“The guy you’re talking about—I probably know him… His name’s Wei Long. Do you know where he is now?”
“Are you really his friend? Can you take me to find him?” Yosuke’s flushed face clutched Fierce Tiger’s hand, pleading.
“How’s this damn game going? No idea, but he’s definitely a scumbag, treating girls terribly,” the chat couldn’t help but comment.
“I am really his friend. Here’s the deal: tell me where he is, and I’ll take you to him!”
“No way. He warned us—we have to leave Shibuya tonight. I can’t let you take Toyokawa away.” Kyoko sensed something was wrong and stood to stop them.
Fierce Tiger narrowed his eyes, his cursed energy slowly flowing out; he was ready to kill the female officer blocking his traffic. NPCs’ lives didn’t count in the eyes of players, regardless of how thunderous she was.
But the next moment, a message popped up in the chat, stopping him.
“Wait, she just said ‘Great Mighty Dragon’ told them to leave Shibuya tonight? Does he know the inside story of the ‘Shibuya Incident’? Is the big one really coming?”
