Volume 1, Chapter 29: She Coldly Rejected Xie Yi
Jiang Yutang ignored the prying eyes of everyone in the Duke of Anguo’s residence and hurried to the dining hall on legs that still ached slightly.
It was still early, and no one had arrived yet. Many seats in the dining hall were empty. What Jiang Yutang had not expected, however, was to find Xie Yihe there as well.
When too many people are involved, confusion easily arises. If something is mishandled, resistance may break out; once one person takes the lead, those behind will follow suit.
“But I heard that you moved the goods together with Hu An and the others. You must have been involved as well.” I stared at him coldly.
He suddenly turned her around to face him. Beneath the dim light, he looked straight into her eyes, watching their faint evasiveness without exposing her lie. The corners of his lips lifted slightly as his palm moved slowly up and down her back.
Having lived for so many years, Huo Yun naturally understood what sort of place a secret realm was. It was hardly strange that the secret realm could conceal Qiu Xuan’s aura. Others might not know, but Huo Yun did: it was a place where the ancient gods and demons had once trained, and one of the battlefields of the gods and demons.
Master seemed to be in great pain. It took him several dozen seconds to recover before he finally drew a deep breath and laboriously opened his eyes.
My heart stirred. A-Suo’s poisonous oath… She had later been nailed to death inside a coffin, and the Jade Star Disk had been used to suppress her. Could it have been because she had broken her oath?
Xia Yan refused to go, thinking it was merely a matter of vomiting and hardly worth making such a fuss over. But Sister-in-law Wang wore a solemn expression and brought up a whole list of instructions Yi Beihan had given.
“Brother Prince, explain it to everyone. Why do you like hitting the flowers off target?” Yue Lingshan refused to let the matter drop and stubbornly continued questioning him.
The sun was not yet too hot, and none of them needed umbrellas. They headed straight toward the pond.
“Is that so? That’s good news for us.” I smiled, but had no intention of explaining that I had gone to see Han Runan’s father yesterday.
In just one short month, Luo Yuan had already grown strong enough to kill a third-tier ability user with ease.
At that moment, his respect and admiration for Gu Liren deepened even further. He considered himself fortunate to have met such a teacher.
“Wife, I miss you… I’ve been thinking about you every day these past few days!” Gu Beichen, a man who had always been calm and composed, actually confessed his feelings to her with such fervent words.
Suddenly, a burst of commotion came from somewhere ahead. It was followed by hurried cries and the sound of panicked footsteps.
Ye Xinhe’s expression was calm. He had originally been an exceedingly proud young man, but after witnessing the attacks of Wang Jingmeng, Shichang Luo, and the others, that former pride had faded considerably.
Now that they had finally endured until the moment when the Azure Carp was about to die, the Sea Clan’s Spirit Severing cultivator appeared sorrowful and regretful on the surface, but inwardly was frantic with impatience. He had been waiting for the Azure Carp’s death so he could inherit the treasures left behind by the True Dragon and rise to prominence in a single bound. Who could have known that the Azure Carp would give everything to a bastard hybrid fish instead?
After spending two months gathering information among the Thunder Clan, Qi Feng had come to understand that the art of commanding ten thousand thunderbolts was not nearly as easy to obtain as he had imagined.
She noticed that when Martina referred to the Hulk, she used the term “big guy,” rather than “monster” or “demon.”
“Sisi, you want to marry me?” He caught a strand of her hair and wound it around his fingertip.
Luo Yuan frowned, reached out, grabbed Nan Zhao and the person who had fallen into the water, and flung them toward the other side.
An apple worth ten yuan was hardly anything, but it gave Miao Miao immense satisfaction.
The man in black nodded and remained outside with the others, while Qin Yuxi entered the room and casually closed the door behind her.
Even with the seat belt fastened, her entire body suddenly lurched forward uncontrollably. Her head struck the windshield, and two screams rang out from behind.
