Chapter 101: Seeing Injustice
So this was a guy going after little white-faced boys! What a thrill! I've seen guys chasing mistresses to school before, but I didn't expect that the moment I arrived, I would run into someone chasing after gigolos. The bald man looked like he was no pushover, and this boy was finished today.
The man trembled, speaking timidly, “I... I didn't touch your wife. Me and Sister Shan really have nothing.”
“Still fucking dare to quibble! My brothers all saw it! Awei, you say isn't it him!” the bald guy shouted angrily.
A young man with yellow-dyed hair said, “It's him!”
Another student yelled, “Don't randomly slander people! He works part-time in the bar, he didn't touch your wife!”
“If not him, then it's you? You're stepping up to be a hero, huh? Beat you too!”
The bald guy advanced several steps and swung his fist. The student raised his hand to block it.
Suddenly, a hand reached out from the side and grabbed the bald guy's fist. It was none other than Wei Er Ye, with his fair and delicate skin.
I was surprised and looked around. When had he arrived? So this was the kind of person who helps when he sees injustice?
“You fucking don't meddle...” Before the bald guy could finish, Wei Er Ye twisted his arm and kicked him to the ground.
A female onlooker let out a cry of alarm. The bald guy was screaming on the ground in agony. I had seen Wei Er Ye's skills before; this guy might have broken bones or injured organs.
The others hadn't anticipated the sudden turn of events and were momentarily stunned. Several people hurriedly helped the bald guy up, while the rest glared at Wei Er Ye with murderous intent, threatening, “If you dare hit Brother Xing, you won't be able to leave today!”
The others were about to charge forward, but Su Fei Yong quickly stepped up, grabbed a small thug by the shoulder, yanked him backward, and struck with an elbow. The guy yelped and collapsed to the ground.
The others hadn't expected reinforcements and froze, staring at the two men.
Su Fei Yong's demeanor changed; his face turned cold and stern, with a killing aura in his eyes. Even dressed in an ordinary down jacket, he made people shiver with fear. This was the first time I'd seen him like this. The person who followed Wei Er Ye around like a shadow was indeed no ordinary individual.
The fallen guy was howling nonstop, in extreme pain, much like the previous bald man.
The group realized both were not ordinary people and hesitated.
“You also want to pretend to be a hero, huh!” someone shouted viciously, but with less conviction.
Su Fei Yong remained silent, his cold gaze fixed on the man, who immediately shuddered and didn't dare speak.
Others saw the situation and didn't dare intervene as heroes; the two sides were at a standoff.
I touched Tu E's shoulder and signaled for us to approach.
I took out my phone and walked forward, saying, “I've already called the police. If you want to fight, hurry up, or else the police will arrive and we won't be able to finish the job.”
The group turned to look at us. Seeing Tu E beside me, their faces showed some fear. This man was tall and imposing; if he didn't speak, he had great charisma. That was why I had brought him along.
One of them issued a threat, “Fuck! Meddling! Next time I'll deal with you guys!”
With that, the group helped the bald guy and the fallen small thug leave, quickly departing.
The leader had been taught a lesson by just a few people, and several fierce helpers had already shown up. These individuals had lost all desire to fight. I had simply given them an excuse to leave.
Wei Er Ye took out his phone and dialed a number, saying in a deep voice, “A guy with a scorpion tattoo on his head, take care of him.”
I was startled. What was he planning to do? Wipe out his entire family or exterminate his lineage?
Wei Er Ye hung up the phone and turned to the student who had been speaking on behalf of his companion.
The student looked at Wei Er Ye with disgust, then at me and Tu E, and said coldly, “How did you end up here!”
He turned and was about to leave.
He knew Wei Er Ye—did that mean Wei Er Ye's son was his friend?
“Gao Sheng! Mouse! Are you guys okay!” A guy came running over.
The man reached us, turned to look at us, and upon recognizing my face, I was shocked. How had he come here to study?
The person saw me and was stunned, then sneered coldly, disdainfully saying, “Yo, isn't this the one who was expelled from school by...”
Gao Sheng placed a hand on his shoulder, signaling him not to say more, then glared at us hatefully and said, “A nest of vipers!”
The three walked into the school. The guy turned his head and glanced at me, revealing a smug, contemptuous smile, as if looking at a defeated foe.
I let him have his way. It was fine for him to be smug. I just hadn't expected him to be studying here, which made things interesting.
This person is called Ge Zhi Kai; he was my classmate from junior high through high school. Actually, we didn't have much interaction. My grades were good, though not the absolute best, but Chinese and Math were always my strong subjects, and this guy happened to be the same. Especially in Math, I could always score full marks, while he always scored a few points less than me.
I don't know who started the rumor that the one who scored full marks and the one who always missed by one or two points seemed similar but were actually worlds apart—the former because there were only that many points on the paper, the latter because his ability was limited to that extent. As a result, he always regarded me as his mortal enemy.
The Gaokao was his last chance to surpass me. Because he was so eager to win, he overworked himself and fell ill, resulting in a sudden illness on the eve of the exam, which led to him failing. I went to a key university, while he attended an ordinary one—not expecting it to be this very place.
He knew about my expulsion and was probably thrilled, feeling that he had finally defeated me.
I never took him seriously. I had studied diligently because my health was poor and I couldn't enjoy other things.
“Excuse me... are you students here for a visit?” A girl wearing a student union badge approached hesitantly.
She had been watching from the side earlier and, seeing the situation, hadn't dared to come over.
She looked back and forth between Wei Er Ye and Tu E, with some fear and... some fangirling. Su Fei Yong and I were completely ignored by her.
I felt a bit annoyed, and I had to admit I wasn't as strikingly handsome as the two of them, but I was still quite presentable, at least neatly dressed. I shouldn't have been completely overlooked, should I?
Wei Er Ye looked at her expressionlessly and nodded.
The girl's cheeks turned red, and she lowered her head, saying, “I... I'm from the school student union. The teacher asked me to lead you inside.”
“Classmate, your luggage.” Su Fei Yong's voice came from behind.
This guy had been domineering just moments ago but now appeared as an ordinary driver, acting as if he didn't know us. I was deeply impressed by his acting prowess.
Su Fei Yong walked to the rear of the car and pulled out three small suitcases from the trunk. I was again shocked; the equipment was so complete—it was time to play the full set.
We each grabbed our luggage, and Su Fei Yong drove off. This time, only the three of us were going; he wouldn't be participating.
Lu Cai Yan led us into the school. I looked at the surroundings, with vigorous university students coming and going, and rows of teaching buildings. It still felt familiar, the same scenes, but they no longer belonged to me.
