“Wanwan, we’re in the cornfield. No one will find us here.” Ma Zhiming impatiently began undoing his buttons, one foot still planted on a corn stalk. “Once we’ve done it, I’ll go to your house tomorrow to ask for your hand in marriage.”
Su Wanwan was dazed for a moment. Confused, she glanced around, but darkness surrounded her.
Only in the moonlight could she make out the corn stalks all around them.
Su Wanwan pressed a hand to her aching head.
She pinched the flesh of her arm hard, trying to keep her mind clear.
