Chapter 93: Give Me More Heirs
In the president’s office of the Fu Group, Fu Yancheng sat behind his desk, reviewing the final investigation report Zhou Ze had just delivered.
When his eyes fell upon the line marked with the legal representative and actual controlling shareholder of the Snow Kiss brand, and saw the clear two-character name “Qiao Xi,” not the slightest surprise appeared in his deep, dark eyes. Instead, a very gentle smile slowly unfurled there.
So it really was her.
The one who had risen so suddenly, seizing the high-end market with a unique formula and astonishing speed, the true force behind Snow Kiss, had in fact been by his side all along.
It was the person he held closest to his heart.
Fu Yancheng set the document aside and rose to walk into the lounge connected to the office.
Qiao Xi was curled up on the sofa.
She was studying a maternity and baby-care magazine with focused attention, warm sunlight tracing the soft calm lines of her profile and the slight curve of her belly.
Feeling his approach, she looked up and gave him a tender smile.
Fu Yancheng walked over, sat naturally beside her, and drew her into his arms.
His large hand came to rest over her abdomen, sensing the movement of the two little lives within.
He did not speak at once, simply held her quietly and savored the still, intimate moment.
In the space between their breaths lingered her faint, pleasant fragrance, a rare half-day of stolen peace and warmth.
In that vast world, it seemed only their mingled breaths and heartbeats remained.
Qiao Xi sensed that he had something to say, and asked softly, “What is it? Is there something wrong at the company?”
Fu Yancheng lowered his head and kissed the crown of her hair, then placed the investigation report on the coffee table before her. His voice was calm and gentle.
“Xi Xi, I looked over Snow Kiss’s quarterly financial report and the strategic plan for the next quarter.”
“You did exceptionally well. The market outlook is very clear.”
Qiao Xi’s body stiffened slightly, and the smile on her face froze.
Slowly, she lifted her head and looked at Fu Yancheng, a flicker of panic and unease flashing in her eyes.
She had originally wanted to tell him this secret herself at a more fitting moment.
“You… you know already?” Her voice tightened.
“Yes.”
Seeing her nervous expression, Fu Yancheng felt his heart soften completely. He tightened his arms, holding her even more securely.
“My Xi Xi is this capable?”
“Without making a sound, you created a business miracle.”
There was not the slightest hint of accusation or displeasure in his tone, only overwhelming pride and admiration.
Qiao Xi studied his expression carefully, and only after confirming that he truly was not angry did the stone in her heart finally begin to lift, though only halfway.
Still, unease remained. “You… you won’t think that I deceived you, or that I was guarding against you all this time, will you?”
She lowered her eyelashes, her voice growing faint. “I never meant to hide it from you forever. It’s just that at first… I didn’t know how to bring it up.”
“Later… I was afraid you would think I had ulterior motives…”
Fu Yancheng lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes.
His gaze was deep and sincere, carrying a resolve strong enough to smooth away every trace of her anxiety.
“Silly girl.”
He murmured affectionately, “How could I ever think you deceived me?”
“You built a career with your own talent and effort. I am immensely proud of you. As for guarding yourself…” Fu Yancheng gave a soft laugh, understanding and tenderness in equal measure.
“When you were uncertain of my feelings, uncertain how the Fu family would view your little maneuvers, it was only natural wisdom to hold something back.”
“That only proves my wife is not only brilliant, but cautious and intelligent as well. I admire you too much to have anything else.”
He paused, then his tone grew even more solemn.
“Xi Xi, remember this: we are husband and wife, the people closest to each other in this world.”
“Your achievements are my pride; your dreams are my responsibility.”
“Snow Kiss is your blood and sweat. I will use every resource and every connection of the Fu Group to protect it, support it, and help it grow even better.”
“It will never become a barrier or a burden between us. It will only be another brilliant jewel in the crown we share.”
“The Fu Group’s resources and connections are always open to you and to Snow Kiss.”
These candid, forceful words completely dispelled the last shadow in Qiao Xi’s heart.
Her eyes grew hot. She threw herself into his arms and held him tightly.
“Yancheng… thank you.”
Thank you for understanding, thank you for accepting me, thank you for giving me this love and support without reservation.
Fu Yancheng embraced her in return. Feeling the dependence and emotion in her arms, his heart filled to the brim with immense satisfaction.
He lowered his head and kissed away the moisture at the corner of her eye, teasing, “However, Mrs. Fu…”
“Next time you make such a big move, could you maybe give your investor and husband a heads-up in advance?”
“So I can protect you properly a little earlier.”
Qiao Xi’s tears turned to laughter. She punched him lightly. “Got it, President Fu! I’ll report to you first thing from now on!”
“Speaking of protection.”
Fu Yancheng’s expression turned serious. “What are Snow Kiss’s plans next? If you need Fu Group’s channels or technical support, just say the word.”
“Or, if you’re interested, we could consider a deeper partnership.”
“For example, we could establish an independent subsidiary, with you in full control, and Fu Group serving as a strategic investor and support platform.”
A spark of surprise and thought lit Qiao Xi’s eyes. “Really?”
“I do have some new ideas about product-line expansion and entering overseas markets, but I’ve been worried about lacking resources and experience…”
“Of course it’s possible.”
Fu Yancheng kissed her forehead. “Your dream is my responsibility.”
“Let’s make it bigger and stronger together, until Snow Kiss becomes something that truly belongs to you, something proud enough to stand beside the Fu Group.”
Warm sunlight enveloped the two of them as they held each other.
All secrets had been laid bare, all worries had dissolved.
Between them, there was no longer anything hidden.
Only complete trust remained, and a future walked side by side.
Fu Yancheng lowered his head and looked at the tear stains still drying at the corners of her eyes and her slightly flushed cheeks. His heart was so full of love it overflowed.
He could not resist the urge to tease her.
A playful, indulgent curve touched his lips. “Mrs. Fu, look at it this way: I’m supporting your career so much… shouldn’t you repay me properly too?”
Qiao Xi lifted her damp eyes and met the deep, smiling gaze in his. She asked instinctively, “What kind of repayment do you want?”
Fu Yancheng’s big hand gently covered her rounded belly, feeling the vitality of the two little lives within. His expression softened to the point of helpless fondness.
“The best repayment would be… for my wife to work hard and give me a few more heirs in the future.”
He leaned closer, his nose nearly brushing hers, his voice lowered further, full of temptation and expectation.
“Would two be enough?”
“The Fu family is such a large enterprise. Someone has to share the burden.”
“Two boys and two girls would be best, making two good pairs. Or… more would be fine too. I don’t mind plenty.”
Qiao Xi blushed deeply at his blunt, greedy request and gave him a shy little thump.
“Do you think I’m a pig? The more the better… These two little ones are already enough to wear me out.”
As she spoke, she gently stroked her belly, her face glowing with maternal radiance.
Fu Yancheng let out a low laugh.
He took her restless hand in passing and closed it tightly in his palm, looking at her with burning eyes.
“What, Mrs. Fu doesn’t want to?”
“I’m only making long-term plans for our Fu family’s future.”
He deliberately sighed, though his tone was full of indulgence. “It seems the return on my ‘investment’ will have to depend on Mrs. Fu’s great mercy.”
Watching his pitiful act, with anticipation he could not quite hide, Qiao Xi felt sweet enough to drip honey.
She held back her laughter.
Deliberately putting on a small stern face, she copied the tone he used at the negotiating table. “Hmm… this project, then, I’ll have to carefully assess the risk and value.”
“President Fu, where is your sincerity?”
Fu Yancheng was amused even more by her expression.
He lowered his head and kissed her fingertips with reverence, his gaze earnest and deeply affectionate.
“Everything I have, including myself, has long belonged to you.”
“Is that sincerity enough?”
Qiao Xi finally could not hold back her laughter. She wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her burning cheek in the warmth of his throat.
In a soft murmur, her voice was full of sweet indulgence: “All right, all right… since you’re being so sincere… I’ll think about it.”
Fu Yancheng held her tightly with deep satisfaction, as if embracing the world’s most precious treasure.
The greatest investment of his life was not any project.
It was that girl from years ago, still shining even in the midst of hardship.
And the greatest fortune of his life was being able to hold her in his arms, sharing with her all the glory and all the storms of this world.
The end.
