090 Kalifa (3)
He stepped forward, and Xuan Ye’s lips curved into a wicked smile as he looked at the delicate, alluring girl. His voice was cold. “I will be staying here for three days. During that time, you will be fully responsible for all my daily needs.”
“Yes... yes...” The girl’s face was pale with fear, too frightened to meet his eyes.
“As for you lot, if not for the trouble you cause, you’d already be dead!” Xuan Ye turned and cast a cold snort at Lucci and the others.
The current Cipher Pol Nine were nothing more than boys and girls, far from the strength they would possess years later. More importantly, without Haki, they would ultimately be discarded by this world.
The Six Powers might be considered an unassailable secret art in the eyes of ordinary pirates, but to someone as powerful as Xuan Ye, they were little more than a trifle. Only by mastering Haki, together with a high level of skill in the Six Powers, would one be able to run rampant across these seas.
But for Cipher Pol Nine as they were now, such things were far too distant.
Perhaps Lucci was already strong, but only by the standards of ordinary people or pirates. In any case, this version of Cipher Pol Nine could not possibly bring Xuan Ye any trouble.
“From this moment on, I am the highest authority here. If you have any objections, report them to the Five Elders. But for the next three days, I do not want anyone disturbing me. Otherwise, death.”
At last, Xuan Ye suppressed the anger in his heart and glanced indifferently at the others.
“Get up. Take me to the archive.” He turned to the middle-aged man, ignoring the miserable figure on the floor.
“Yes!” The middle-aged man could only comply helplessly. Though he had some connections within the government, he knew they were utterly useless against someone who would one day stand among the highest ranks of the Navy.
“Oh, right.” After a few steps, Xuan Ye raised a finger and said with disgust, “I do not want to see this fellow again. If I do, kill him.”
Everyone looked toward where Xuan Ye was pointing, and all of them trembled inwardly.
“Yes, yes. I’ll have him sent off this very instant.” The middle-aged man bowed respectfully, then said to Lucci and the others, “Take him off the island. Without my order, he is not allowed to return.”
“Yes!” Lucci rose to his feet and gave Xuan Ye’s retreating back a calm glance, yet a surge of heat rushed through his chest.
“What is your name?” Xuan Ye looked at the frail girl, suddenly unable to recall it.
“C...Kalifa...” The girl stepped back in fear. Xuan Ye’s presence was too overwhelming, so strong it made her tremble.
“Go down and dress your wounds. Report back tomorrow.” With that, the two of them and the middle-aged man gradually disappeared beyond the doorway.
“Damn it... damn it...” Watching Xuan Ye vanish, the purple-haired youth knelt on the ground, his legs drenched in blood. His eyes were full of hatred, like those of a vengeful ghost, chilling to the bone.
“I’m going to kill him. I’m going to kill him.” He wailed in agony, tears streaming down his face.
Silence fell. The people present said nothing, only looking coldly at this pampered young master.
“Let’s go.” In the end, Lucci spoke flatly, and one man lifted the purple-haired youth, using Moon Walk to vanish from the Judicial Tower.
Meanwhile, after walking for a while, Xuan Ye stood in a sealed room. Around him, countless wooden shelves supported rows upon rows of documents.
“Ad... Admiral, this is the archive. The materials you want are all here.” The middle-aged man’s face was ashen, and his body looked ready to collapse.
“You may leave. Without my orders, no one is to disturb me.” Xuan Ye did not even look at him, waving him away with obvious impatience.
“Chirp chirp... You can look around here! I’m going out to play!” The monkey’s eyes rolled, and it laughed mischievously.
“Go on... go on...” Xuan Ye was already eager beyond restraint, and he waved it off immediately.
“Chirp chirp... Old man, let’s go!” The monkey turned and rolled its eyes at the middle-aged man.
“Ah... yes... yes...” The middle-aged man froze, but then understood what the monkey meant, which only made him feel more bewildered.
Sensing that the two had left, Xuan Ye immediately began his search.
After a while, he pulled out a scroll containing information about Golden Lion.
“Golden Lion Shiki, user of the Float-Float Fruit, a floating human who can remove the effects of gravity from himself or objects and make them drift through the air. However, it has no effect on living beings other than himself... once appeared in the East Blue. Some time ago, he fought the Pirate King...”
The details were all fragments Xuan Ye already knew. He searched through every record, but there was never any mention of Golden Lion’s current whereabouts. Everything filed away was from several years ago.
With a surge of anger, Xuan Ye flung the documents to the floor, veins bulging on his forehead.
Several hours later, he shoved the door open with force.
His face dark, he looked at the two men waiting outside and ordered, “Find Spandam for me!”
“Yes!” The two men at the door lowered their heads and vanished quickly down the corridor.
A few minutes later, Spandam appeared before Xuan Ye in a respectful manner, his upper body wrapped in white bandages and his face still bloodless.
“Ad... Admiral, I wonder what orders you have.”
“I don’t care what means you use. I must know the latest information about Golden Lion in three days. No, seven.” After some thought, Xuan Ye decided to remain here for seven days.
“Yes...”
“Get lost!” Xuan Ye’s expression was ugly.
“Yes!” Spandam turned away with a bitter smile. Several hours earlier, he had already reported what happened here to the Five Elders, but the answer he received in the end only disappointed him.
“Whatever he wants to do, cooperate with him fully. And remember, his temper is not very good. Be careful. If you die, you’ll have died for nothing.”
Those exact words had left Spandam utterly chilled to the bone.
The next day, Xuan Ye rose very early and intended to go out for a walk, because he had thought long and hard the night before, yet reason told him this matter could not be rushed.
Besides, even if he learned Golden Lion’s whereabouts, with his current strength he could not possibly rescue Xiaoxi. The only way might be to ask his master for help.
“Haah...” With a sigh, Xuan Ye wandered aimlessly around this famous island of justice, but no matter how far he walked, his mood remained awful.
Clearly, his mind was elsewhere.
“Forget it. I’d better go back.” Shaking his head, Xuan Ye decided to return and train.
As for the monkey, it had had its fill of mischief the night before and only came back in the dead of night. By now it was still sleeping soundly like a dead pig.
Leaping into the air, Xuan Ye flew straight back to his quarters, ready to begin training.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
“Come in!”
The door opened, and a seductive, sweet-smelling girl walked in wearing high heels and carrying breakfast.
Xuan Ye’s lips lifted as he studied the girl with interest, thinking to himself that she truly lived up to the fantasies of countless shut-ins in his previous life. That figure, that full chest, that slender waist, that ample rear—everything about Kalifa was alluring.
“Ad... Admiral, breakfast is ready!” Kalifa blushed. She felt as though she were standing naked before him, utterly exposed.
“Put it there.” Pulling his gaze away, Xuan Ye waved a hand and said, “You may leave.”
“Ah... yes...” Kalifa hesitated for a moment, then withdrew from the room.
Watching that alluring back as she left, Xuan Ye shook his head to clear it and then threw himself into training.
