Chapter 3: YGO, Activate!
Li Guanqi furrowed his brows. He pressed down lightly with his palm and moved his fingers back and forth over the chest of the twin flower, yet he could not feel the familiar heartbeat.
“How is that possible?” he thought to himself.
A heartbeat symbolizes life—how could there be none?
He picked up the stethoscope beside him, gently placed the cold chest piece against her chest, and pressed his ear to the other end, focusing intently on listening.
The twin flower, seeing this whole procedure, was dumbfounded. “Um… your reaction to touching a girl’s chest is like this?”
“I feel offended,” Li Guanqi replied coldly, concentrating on the stethoscope. “You’re just a patient to me.”
Yet the stethoscope remained deafeningly silent, no heartbeat at all.
“Has your heart ever had problems before? You’d better get an echocardiogram.”
Li Guanqi shook his head absentmindedly, a bit helpless. As an intern, he really had no idea what illness this could be.
If it weren’t for her body temperature, he would have suspected a ghost.
“That’s really strange.” The twin flower looked at him. “Your reaction to touching my chest is just like Dr. Li’s—no blush at all, very impolite.”
“But you… shouldn’t be Dr. Li.”
Li Guanqi paused. “Why?”
“I don’t have a heart,” she recalled. “It was Dr. Li who did the surgery, replacing my heart with a card.”
“And he said it was a very important card…”
“If you were Dr. Li, you wouldn’t forget that…”
“Stop, stop!” Li Guanqi raised his hand to cut off her memories.
Replacing a heart with a card? What kind of medical miracle is that?
He sighed softly. “Miss, no card can replace a heart. You’d better get the echocardiogram tomorrow.”
“You don’t believe me!” The twin flower placed her hands on her hips, pouting stubbornly.
Thirty percent helplessness, seventy percent grievance, and ninety percent adorable.
Li Guanqi gently raised his hand, face resolute. “I believe in science.”
“Unless you summon the Silver Princess before me.”
“Silver Princess?” The twin flower raised an eyebrow, murmuring, “Labyrinth is at the North Pole, so far away.”
“Labyrinth at the North Pole? You sure know how to imagine,” Li Guanqi groaned, covering his head. “Prepare to be hospitalized. Your illness is serious; both cardiovascular and neurological issues might be involved.”
The Silver Princess and Labyrinth were both cards—purely virtual characters.
“You just don’t believe me!” The twin flower stomped her foot, growing anxious.
“I’m your doctor. Don’t try to pass your illness to me.”
“Then we’ll have to settle this with a match!”
“Bring it on!”

“No, what match?”
“What else but a duel!”
“Oh?” Li Guanqi twitched the corner of his mouth and straightened his white coat in respect. “Miss, you’re bold.”
He never would have imagined this.
His first doctor-patient conflict would be resolved through a duel.
“Well, it’s come to this. No duel, no peace,” Li Guanqi said sharply, pointing his thumb. “Log in!”
Every card player knew it meant an online duel.
The twin flower looked around the ward, frowning slightly. “Can I even log into an account here?”
“Account? Do you usually only play MD?” Li Guanqi asked suspiciously. “Use YGO. You don’t need an account to play.”
MD and YGO were both Yu-Gi-Oh! platforms—the former required an account to build decks and cards were drawn with virtual currency, while the latter was free and had all cards unlocked.
“MD? YGO?” The twin flower’s eyes grew even more confused.
“Could it be…”
She gradually realized something was wrong, and her expression turned serious.
She could understand the mention of “2026” before—different places might measure time differently.
After all, the world was vast and strange.
But if—
The rules of dueling, or rather the platform for dueling, had changed—
She had to consider a possibility.
“A new world?!” The twin flower bit her chin, whispering.
Li Guanqi tapped his phone a few times, opened the YGO app, entered the deck builder, then handed the phone to her. “Here, build your deck.”
“All the cards are here.”
YGO’s card pool was more complete than MD’s, including advanced cards; any deck she wanted to play was available.
“All the cards? You’re just bragging—how is that possible?” The twin flower typed “Rose Dragon” into the search bar. The results made her eyes widen, and she covered her head, screaming, “Ah—”
“Really… really all… all of them?!”
Her voice faltered, as if she’d seen something terrifying.
“Is such a reaction necessary?” Li Guanqi was startled by her.
Her fingers trembled as she searched for “Holy Grail,” “Matched Swords,” “Tearful Elegy Tribe,” and more.
The search results almost made her phone slip from her hands.
“Really… all of them…”
She turned her head, staring blankly at Li Guanqi. “Can I… add all these cards to my deck?”
“Is there some kind of price? Say it straight, demon!”
“You already touched them anyway.”

“Stop—” Li Guanqi raised a cold hand to halt her, sighing softly. “It’s a purely free platform—no pay-to-win.”
“Really?” The twin flower gave him a suspicious glance, looking around like a thief.
Once sure no one was watching, she carefully moved a card—Tearful Elegy Tribe Siren—into the deck box.
Unsurprisingly, the card was successfully added.
No curses, no backlash, no cold stares or beatings appeared.
“Ah!!!”
Her eyes gleamed with excitement, shouting, “Sang of the Three Realms didn’t come out to attack me!”
Li Guanqi frowned. “Sang of the Three Realms? Your sister?”
Twin Flower and Sang of the Three Realms sounded like a sisterly pair.
Two chuunibyou kids in one.
The twin flower didn’t reply, fully immersed in the exhilaration of this new world, stuffing all the cards she’d wanted to use but couldn’t before into her deck—if forty cards weren’t enough, she’d fill it to sixty.
“Hahaha…”
As she added cards, she let out a villainous, hearty laugh.
“I’m invincible now!”
The goddess’s face grew more fierce—seriously ill, and addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh!
“Oh.” Li Guanqi suddenly remembered something. “You’re using my phone, so what do I use?”
Without looking up, the twin flower pointed casually. “Isn’t that computer over there free?”
“Download YGO on the hospital computer?” Li Guanqi was shocked by the bold idea. He quickly scanned to make sure no one was around.
Strangely, the hospital was rather quiet today.
He looked cautious, wanting to sneak a game but feeling a bit worried.
“I’m your patient.” The twin flower noticed his hesitation and gave a mischievous smile like a little devil. “This is part of the treatment.”
Li Guanqi’s eyes flashed sharply. “Indeed!”
“Absolutely necessary!”
“Today, I must help you kick your card addiction.”
“Hmph.” The twin flower smiled confidently. “Looks like you still don’t know what an invincible deck is.”
Two card-crazed lunatics locked eyes; the situation was beyond saving.
“YGO, activate!”
